How to Fix Xbox 360 Disc Tray Won T Open

Maybe someone is messing around with it when you are out of the room...or it is just a general problem with your Xbox.

But sometimes I'm in the room watching TV or on the computer and it will randomly open the tray.

Hey there Davis! Thank you for your post! One thing you can try is to unplug your console from the wall power outlet for several hours. Then, hold your finger on the disc eject button for a few seconds. This should fully discharge the capacitors in the system - a sort of "reset" of the touch buttons, if you will. After this, try powering the system back on and see if the issue is resolved. :) If you are still having this issue after this step, then the console is likely in need of repair. Let me know how this works out! :)

I've tried this solution and it still happens. if there aren't any other fixes, I'm going to have to submit a repair ticket.

Actually when I was looking up the serial number, I had to disconnect all the cables/cords to get it. So I decided to discharge it with everything disconnected. I think it actually fixed it because it hasn't had any issues in awhile. Thank you for your help!
